We are extremely pleased to announce the long-overdue release of KingSize WordPress 5.0.9, available officially on Themeforest.net as of December 23rd, 2015.
This update is a giant leap forward and the last and final step prior to the release of the much anticipated Version 5.1 which will be including WooCommerce support and Ecommerce capabilities.
In todays update, we are addressing a few bugs, most minor, but one that affected all users using version prior to 5.0.8 when updating to WordPress version 4.4.
Due to changes in the offset using wp_query it caused the Pagination within the Blog Shortcode to break. No longer allowing visitors using pagination to load the next pages beyond the first page.
This has been resolved. As have other known issues, such as:
- When enabling ThemeCheck there were some discovered issues.
These have for the most part been resolved.
Though some remain which we cannot avoid.
- Page/Post Grid Overlay was set to “disabled” by default.
We added a new “default” option that reflects the theme defined options.
- We used a now-depreciated method in fetching Media Files.
- Lightbox broke when using a video background on posts.
- Portfolio Post comments would occasionally link into Portfolio pages.
- Resolved a few of the discovered WP DEBUG errors.
- Fancybox was loading with missing images that were not included.
- Jetpack complications with Post Subscriptions resolved.
- Gravity Form complications with form creation resolved.
- Skype Social link did not work to open Skype when linked.
- Yoast SEO styling issues with conditional borders on breadcrumbs.
- Orderby issues with the Portfolio Shortcodes.
All these mentioned issues have been resolved and updated in version 5.0.9.
In addition to these fixes, we’ve included some new things too:
- We’ve re-written and created a completely new Documentation.
- We’ve updated our download folder structure from Themeforest.
- We’ve updated the Express Install.xml with new import data.
- We’ve created a whole new series of Video Tutorials (now current).
- We’ve introduced a new Filter option on Portfolios using Isotope.
You can see a demonstration of this here: Filtered Portfolios
- We’ve included pre-packages and ready to install plugins with our theme:
Fullwidth Audio Player: a now pre-packaged and recommended plugin.
Visual Composer: a new pre-packaged plugin and being fully supported.
Yoast SEO Plugin: now a recommended plugin on install (and supported).
Contact Form 7: now a recommended plugin on install (and supported).
EventON: is now a compatible and supported with our theme.
Gravity Forms: is now fully compatible and supported with our theme.
As seen above, the release of Version 5.0.9 includes support for a lot of new plugins.
While we do not have a comprehensive list of custom elements in Visual Composer just yet, we are working to include new shortcodes and elements directly inside Visual Composer in the coming weeks, as well more options that allow even greater flexibility and freedom. At the time of this release, we are stating that Visual Composer will work with our theme. Of course, Visual Composer comes with it’s own default stylings and so not everything will match our theme, but Visual Composer allows great user-freedom in which case you can change colours, fonts, styles and more when creating those individual elements in it.
Visual Composer comes packages with the KingSize WordPress theme and will remain free to our buyers using KingSize WordPress.
Please note that due to the new plugins being pre-packaged, you will often see updates that pertain specifically to those plugins only.
As these plugins release updates and are pre-packaged, we too will push updates that will contain these newly updated plugin resources.
The newly added Filterable Portfolio Shortcode option is only available at this time to Portfolios but is being reviewed for Galleries too.
We are also reviewing the new possibilities of managing images a little easier in our future releases, adding more benefits and potential.
You can learn more about the Filtered Portfolios inside the documentation but in short, is a TRUE/FALSE option that when enabled, requires more than 1 category being shown in your Portfolio Shortcode. At which time it will display those multiple categories as “filterable” tabs that when clicked will show those specific categories being used.
We do appreciate your patience while we worked towards this release and will be working steadily towards the release of Version 5.1 in the coming weeks (or as soon as possible). This next release will include full support of WooCommerce as well other Ecommerce options and membership management. We also intend to include better client-management for Photographers using KingSize WordPress as an online studio.
If you do discover any bugs or issues with the release of Version 5.0.9, please register with our support forums if you’ve not already and post your findings there. We will always work as fast as we can to release updates patching any bugs discovered and when we do, they will likely be released to the support forums first. So always be sure to check in for updates and patches there.
